Brittle Freddy Sanchez History Repeats

It seems like yesterday, that we learned that Freddy Sanchez was going under the knife and miss opening day of 2010. It was a long slow recovery but he did finally come through with a decent season which raised optimism for 2011 and then.

History repeated.

Carl Steward of the Mercury News is reporting that Sanchez is again going under the knife for his shoulder.
Sanchez had arthroscopic surgery on his non-throwing left shoulder Tuesday in Scottsdale, Ariz., to correct problems he began incurring near the end of the regular season and during the postseason. The Giants thought the issues could be corrected through rest and rehab, but it wasn’t improving fast enough for either Sanchez or the Giants to head into the 2011 season, so Sanchez elected to have the surgery.

Formally, Sanchez had a bicep tenotomy, which is essentially a surgical equivalent of what did in the playoffs against Atlanta when he tore his bicep away from the tendon making a swing in a game, which provided more relief from pain.
There is hope that like last year that this will be resolved before opening day and even if it is not the club isn't too worried because of the presence of and .

Those guys don't exactly comfort me but it will have to do I guess.

Just one more season with this year after year of surgeries.
