Bumgarner was not his usual self his last outing where he lasted just three innings. He lost his cool over a small strike zone and couldn’t recover even though it looked like his “stuff” was pretty good.
Nothing to worry about here yet.

Kershaw dominated the Giants on Opening Day, outpitching Lincecum. In his second start, he wasn’t nearly as good, allowing three runs over six innings in Denver.
He has pitched well in his young career against the Giants, so lets hope that Bumgarner is up to the task.

Lincecum is riding high off a truly dominate start against the Padres. He has started off the season strong, allowing two runs with only one earned while striking out 18 against only three walks.
|
Billingsley comes in with an ugly ERA but don’t discount him. He is a very good pitcher and held the Giants in check in the second game of the season.

Sanchez has been Sanchez this season. Maddening, but with electric stuff that gets him out of jams. He still hasn’t pitched out of the sixth inning this season because of high pitch counts. Maybe this time out he controls his pitches and puts together a nice outing.

The Giants teed off on Lilly in his last outing, finally earning their first win of the season and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Hopefully the Giants can do that again off Lilly, who has struggled in his first two starts to go deep into games.
