The end appears to be near for local kid . Jerry Crasnick is reporting the the Giants are sending out feelers to get an idea of the return possible for Schierholtz.

This is sad, but you really had to see it coming.

There is almost no way that the Giants would cut and his trade value with the albatross contract is probably zero without paying for just about all of it. At least if they trade Schierholtz, he could possibly fetch some prospect with value in return.

It's too bad that he's caught up in the roster crunch with and coming off the DL soon.
